Parents / Guardians & Youth

Bullying and cyberbullying happens inside and outside the classroom, at home and in the wider community. This means that we need a community-wide approach to deal with cyberbullying, an approach that involves parents/guardians and their children.

In recognition of this fact, the Minister’s Task Force on Cyberbullying includes representation from a range of school, community and justice groups, including parent and youth representatives.

Under the direction of chair Professor Wayne MacKay, the Task Force will receive input from around the province. A final report is expected in December of 2011.

The Task Force also wants to hear directly from you. Feel free to pass along your comments via email, correspondence or facebook. Remember, the Task Force has been asked to provide recommendations that focus on four key areas: intervention, education, assessment and policy.

There will also be opportunities for youth to participate in one of the 8 focus groups planned for Nova Scotia. Click here for details on the focus groups.
